Organization Overview
Serving communities across Montana, our Council provides programs for boys and girls, young men and women, through Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scouts, and Exploring. These programs offer age-appropriate opportunities for personal growth, teamwork, career exploration, outdoor education, and meaningful service to others.
Montana's extraordinary natural landscape provides the backdrop for some of the nation's most distinctive Scouting experiences. Our premier camping properties, including K-M Scout Ranch near Lewistown and Melita Island on Flathead Lake, provide exceptional opportunities for adventure, environmental stewardship, leadership development, and lifelong learning.
Our programs are delivered primarily by dedicated volunteers, supported by professional staff, community partners, and generous donors. Together, we work to make Scouting accessible to families in Montana's urban, rural, and geographically isolated communities.
Beyond serving individual youth, Scouting strengthens communities by developing capable volunteers, fostering civic engagement, promoting service, and preparing the next generation of ethical leaders.
As a charitable nonprofit, Montana Council relies on philanthropic support, corporate partnerships, and community investment to sustain its programs, camps, and services. We welcome individuals, businesses, foundations, and fellow nonprofits to join us through volunteer leadership, collaborative partnerships, and financial support.
